I have enjoyed serving as the Cultural Director for the last two years and want to thank everyone for their help. It has been a good learning experience and a lot of fun. Let's continue the traditions and assist all the members to our board.

I would also like to take this time to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season - it is finally starting to feel like fall!!

SONS OF NORWAY 2011 SCANDINAVIAN JULE FEST!

The lovely San Jose Country Club (7529 San Jose Boulevard) is the setting for our annual Scandinavian Jule Fest Sunday, December 4 from 1 - 4 p.m. We'll celebrate the holiday season in the festively-decorated Ballroom where Executive Chef Marco will present a premier buffet with a wide range of tantalizing entrees and side dishes and scrumptious desserts.

Ample and complimentary parking is available for this afternoon of fabulous food, fellowship and friendship, musical entertainment, the Viking Voices, and the Santa Lucia procession. We'll have various raffle baskets filled with wonderful gift items.

The cash bar opens at 12:45 p.m. and dinner is being served at 1:45 p.m. The price for this very festive and elegant event is $30.

Reservations are due no later than Thursday, December 1 for you to enjoy your Sons of Norway family and friends. Guests are always welcome.

The children's menu is available for those ages 12 and under and features chicken tenders, French fries and fruit cup for $10.

This bountiful buffet menu includes salad bar, fresh fruit platter, Norwegian salmon, white fish with leek fondue, beef bourguignon, green bean almandine, broccoli and cauliflower au gratin, mashed potatoes, rolls, assorted pies, cakes and lingonberry fruit cobbler with ice cream. Iced tea and coffee are available.
